Coyote Hills

1. Sasha and the Drone Buddies Go Hiking

One bright Saturday morning, Sasha packed his tiny backpack with a pizza, juice box, two gummy bears, and a map he drew himself.

"We're going hiking!" Sasha shouted.
The drones zoomed in excited circles.
Sasha popped out of the maze, arms up high. “TA-DA!”

  • Watery spun in big figure-eights above Sasha's head.
  • Icy zipped tiny spirals just above the grass.
  • Fireye twirled while playing a cheerful beep-beep tune.
  • Slymeye blinked rainbow lights while looping like a lasso.
  • Rocky grumbled and did one slow, wobbly circle, saying, “Ugh,…”

🦌 Lots of animals live at Coyote Hills!

🐦 You can see ducks, birds, and sometimes even rabbits hopping around.

🐺 Coyotes live at Coyote Hills! They are like wild dogs, but they're much smaller. They like to roam around at night and can be heard howling. It’s like their way of saying "hello" to their family!
Coyotes like to eat small animals like rabbits, birds, and sometimes even fruits!

🦌 Deer are also there! You might see them in the park during the day. They have big ears and like to eat grass and plants.

There are marshes and wetlands where ducks and other animals like to swim. It’s like their home!

2. Lost Map, Smart Drones

Halfway up, the wind whooshed in and *whoosh!*—blew Sasha's map away!

Watery, the fast blue one with curly propellers.

"Oh no! My map!" he cried.

But Slymeye zoomed after it, caught the corner with a gentle hook, and brought it back.

"Thanks, Slymeye!" said Sasha, hugging the drone.

Rocky grumbled, "Next time, use a paperclip."

3. The Top of the Hill

When they finally reached the top, the world opened up like a picture book. Trees looked like broccoli. Cars were tiny toys. The wind was soft and cool.

Sasha took out his pizza and shared a crumb with an ant. The drones flew in a circle dance around him, and Fireye played a gentle tune.

Then they all sat (or hovered) quietly together.

"I'm glad I have five flying friends," Sasha whispered.

  • Slymeye blinked twice.
  • Rocky muttered, "Hills aren't so bad, I guess."
  • Icy zipped in a heart shape.
  • Fireye played a sleepy lullaby.
  • Watery spun a tiny flower crown out of grass.

4. Sasha's Bike Ride at Coyote Hills

Sasha was ready for his bike ride at Coyote Hills.

His five drones - Watery, Icy, Fireye, Slymeye, and Rocky - buzzed around him as his dad helped him balance on the bike.

"Ready, Sasha?" Dad asked.

"I'm ready!"" Sasha said, smiling.

Sasha pedaled up the hill, but he wobbled a bit. "Whoa!"
"Don't worry, I'm here," Dad said, steadying the bike.

Sasha tried again, and this time, he rode steady! The drones cheered, "Go, Sasha!"

When they reached the top, Sasha shouted, "I did it!""

Dad gave him a high-five. "Great job, buddy!"

Sasha smiled at his drones. "Thanks for flying with me!"
